Update Coming soon!
Ok, so we don't update this website very often. We are currently working on a new website which we hope we will be able to use to keep you all up to date with all the club news and upcoming events. However in the mean time please keep checking the forum for the most up to date information and general banter about the club.
For more information get in touch with us on the forum at www.leeds-uni-cycling.org.uk/forum or email the club at leedsunicycling@googlemail.com
Fancy Joining in? new students looking to join
the club... Hello and welcome to the club website, this is a little bit of information about what we do at Leeds University Cycling Club. There are many aspects to the club, whether it's racing, exploring, having fun, road, MTB, CX or DownHill you are into, we offer a club that caters for all.
RACING:You are lucky enough to be a part of the Cycling Clubs' 10th year, in this time we have gathered an impressive tally of medals and successful riders in both university competitions, and national series events, with riders going on to race in International events and for professional teams in France. We are always looking for talented riders to represent the university.
Club rides and socials:But it isn't all about racing, we also have a very active part of the club which meets up for rides on a regular basis, either on weekly club rides or just arranging them through the forum. That along with regular socials allows all members of the club to keep in touch and socialise on a regular basis.
Trips:Last year we ran trips to Glentress, Innerleithen, Coed-e-Brenin, as well as weekends away to race events, and the Manchester velodrome. As well as day trips away to easily accessible trail centres
What we offer: We are proud to be sponsored by Stif Mountain Bikes of Headingly and Torq fitness, the latter gives members access to reduced price energy products and we place regular orders with them. We also place orders for University kit early on in the year, and in the second semester. We are funded in part by Leeds University Union and membership money, this allows us to heavily subsidise almost everything we do. We have an excellent turn out to our regular club rides, with enough riders to split into different ability groups. Road rides often go out for rides of 40-70mi where as MTB rides often head out to the local trails through Meanwood which are 5 minutes out of Leeds.
The Committee: the committee work for the members of the club to organise most of the events that we do such as races and trips away. For the most part this is behind the scenes work, but you also have the opportunity to influence what goes on through the forum and at committee meetings. Check out the committee section of the website to find out all about us.
